Hart died at his desk, his wife said. He was 76.

Johnny Hart died on Holy Saturday, not Easter Sunday. From Michelle Malkin's site, a reader recalls an appearance by Hart at a World Journalism Institute session. Hart was asked what we call the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. It is Holy Saturday, but in view of Christ's victory over the underworld Johnny Hart suggested it might be called "kick butt Saturday."
