BethAnn's First Fish!

posted in From the Field |

BethAnn caught her first fish Saturday afternoon!

I took this pic with my cell-phone camera, then unhooked the fish. She carried it around for a couple of minutes and showed it to everyone around before throwing it back in.

She was using a cheap Wal-Mart lure (because glowing mutant frogs don't have to be expensive) and her spiffy purple and pink Shakespeare rod & reel.

BethAnn was extremely proud and excited (me, too!), and told everyone, "Now I'm a fishergirl!"

Too cute!! Like the Bible says, spare the (fishing) rod and spoil the child!
Now, she does know how to shoot as well, right?

Well, I could shoot when I was four years old, but we lived in the country. I'll try to at least let her shoot her first .22 before she turns five.

It is nice to see a girl enjoying fishing at such a young age. I was afraid of fish until I was at least ten years old. Children are our future-hope she continues it with a smile
