Mormons define "Christian" similar to the American Heritage Dictionary, not to mention almost every dictionary not written by a Southern Baptist.

    From Craig:
I don't actually know how Mormons define "Christian" but I did not cite the American Heritage or any other dictionary. What I did say was, "Honesty requires that given the nature and substance of the differences between Mormonism and orthodox Christianity, one must conclude that the two are not the same and that to label Mormonism as merely another Christian denomination would be to misrepresent both."

I also said, "It is also important for us to remember that many Mormons do, in fact, consider themselves Christians and are unaware of the theological differences in belief between orthodox Christians and themselves."

There are many groups that consider themselves Christian but would not be considered so by those following orthodox Christian beliefs. Southern Baptists, who this person seems to have issues with, are not the only Christians who consider Mormonism outside of Christianity as practised by believers throughout history, e.g., conservative Lutheran and Anglican churches, Foursquare Church, Assemblies of God, CCCC, Vineyard, Catholic Church, and others do not recognise Mormonism as orthodox Christianity.

I have to agree with the above. I just do not understand why people talk about magic pajamas. There more then a mere riff with Christian, dogma, it is like calling mo slams christian because Christ is in the Koran.
